Palela Bay Oysters

PALELA BAY OYSTERS - (Crassostrea gigas)

Available: September - July

Packed in 5 and 10 dz. units - ~ 3"-4" in length

This delicious oyster is beach grown in Palela Bay in Peale Passage in the southern Puget Sound.  This process lets the meat grow full in the shell and yields a tough, easy to shuck, outer shell. Although it is grown in Palela Bay, we also store this oyster in our certified wet storage in Penn Cove until harvested for our customers. The nice firm shell and clean , crisp oyster meat makes this oyster a one of a real summer time treat.

We are now handling triploid Palela Bay Oysters for the summer, and they are running a Small size, about 3-4 inches in length.  They are nice and meaty and do not get "spawney" like other oysters in the summer.
